Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the members of the CBC Pensioners National Association (PNA) will be held electronically on Tuesday, November 3rd at 1:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
The AGM provides a forum for PNA members to receive the President’s report and the audited financial statements for the year ending March 31st. Participants also appoint the auditor for the current financial year.
Under normal circumstances, the Association is required to conduct its AGM within six months of the end of its fiscal year. This means that our meeting should have been held by the end of September 2020. Pursuant to subsection 160(2) of the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, the PNA requested and was granted an extension from the Director of Corporations Canada of the time for holding our 2020 AGM.
Our Annual General Meeting was originally scheduled to take place in Toronto on May 21st. As our bylaws mirror the provisions of the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, the board of directors has approved an amendment to our bylaws to allow for the AGM to be held electronically later in the year.
Details regarding pre-registration requirements to attend the November 3rd meeting will be posted on our website at a later date and published in the fall issue of Contact.
