The CBC Pensioners National Association is happy to announce the appointment of Susan Graham as its Representative on the Employee Assistance Program National Committee (EAP), and that of Marc-Philippe Laurin as Observer on the Consultative Committee of Staff Benefits (CCSB). The starting date of the two appointees is scheduled for September 10, 2021, at the Association’s Annual General Meeting.
Susan Graham
Susan has a long career within CBC Regina which she joined in 1986 as the Accounts Payable Clerk, moving to Sales in Accounts Receivables, then returning to Finance where her education was focused. She finished her career with CBC in Human Resources as HR Consultant. She retired in 2006.
Susan has volunteered most of her life and she joined the EAP in 1990. In 1999, she was nominated for the Gordon Taylor Award under the “Volunteer of the Year” category and this year was honoured to receive the “Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers”.
She succeeds Donald Langis, from Moncton, who was EAP representative since 2019 until he was elected Vice President (Francophone) last May.

Marc-Philippe Laurin
Marc-Philippe spent 42 years working behind the scenes in radio for both Radio-Canada and the CBC, and 36 years of involvement in the labour movement.
Elected CBC Branch President of the Canadian Media Guild in 2006, a position he held until retirement in 2017, Marc-Philippe has more than a decade of experience on the CCSB, where he was elected Co-chair of the CCSB by the participating unions, a role he also held until retirement. He represented the CMG in the negotiations that led to the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on Surplus Sharing of the CBC Pension Plan and the creation of the Health Fund, a singular agreement he is proud of.
Marc-Philippe succeeds Jean-Paul Rouillard, who is bowing out after more than eighteen years of loyal service to the PNA.

These nominations are a first for the PNA, namely a call to all members for candidacies for these two positions. The call was answered by six PNA members for the position of EAP Representative and by seven others for the position of Observer on the CCSB. All candidates were deemed worthy of consideration and those who were not chosen were put on a list of potential candidates for future positions.
